About Our Trips
Do you enjoy traveling and meeting other homeschooling families? So do we! Homeschoolers from all over the United States and Canada have traveled with us to Washington DC, New York City, Disney World, Italy, Barrier Island, and other day trips and overnight camps. Come join us! To find out more about our upcoming trips, click on the links on the menu on the left-hand side of this page.

Future Trips
I'm often asked about future trips we have planned. Although none are definite yet, we're planning trips to Costa Rica, China, a Wild West II trip to the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas, a river cruise, a trip to Hawaii (my husband and daughter have been nagging me about this one), a trip back to Italy, and others. I've also had more than a few requests for a Boston trip, so I'm going to put that one on the front burner again soon.

Of course, we'll also plan more trips to old favorites like Disney World, Washington DC, New York City, and local field trips and camps. (See pictures from all of these trips on Facebook and read past trip reports here.)

Once details and dates are decided for each trip we'll post it here and distribute information via our mailing list and community. We try to post details about our bigger trips at least a year in advance so you'll have plenty of time to plan.

If you have a suggestions for a future trip, please email me and I'll put it on my list.

Standby List for Families in Need
Sometimes plans change and families aren't able to join us on trips and events they've already paid for. In some cases, instead of asking for a refund, families donate their spots to those who would otherwise not be able to attend. In other cases, the place we're visiting won't give us a refund, and those spots are wasted if we don't have anyone on our waiting list.

If you're a homeschooling family who can't attend our events due to financial hardship, or you'd like to refer a family in need for upcoming events, please email me at director@carolinahomeschooler.com.

Fundraising
Our fundraising projects help make our trips even more affordable for homeschooling families. These projects include Box Tops for Education, Tyson Project A+ an affiliation with Amazon.com, and other website and newsletter advertising.

All of the money generated (less any taxes due) goes toward our trips and has helped tremendously with unexpected costs, non-refundable deposits, and advance reservation fees.

Here are some examples:
- Covers advanced reservation fees for some of the sights we visit in Washington DC.
- Covers price increases that occur a few weeks before our trip. (This happens frequently.)
- Paid for empty seats on our bus to NYC so we didn't have to cancel the trip.
- Helps to defray the cost of special events for the children on our trips.
- Helps to defray the cost of our more expensive international trips.
- Covers the cost of non-refundable deposits for trips that don't reach our minimum to confirm.
- and more!

Usually money is automatically applied to a trip, regardless of whether families actively participate in our fundraising programs. If a trip requires active participation in order to benefit from our funds, it will be stated in the trip's description.

Box Tops for Education are "coupons" found on specific foods, cereal boxes, and other grocery/household products. They're worth .10 each, and can add up quickly when many people contribute. Public schools earn thousands of dollars each year collecting Box Tops. We can, too! For more information about Box Tops for Education and a list of participating products, visit their website. To choose Carolina Homeschooler as your school, type in 29721 for the zip code and then choose Carolina Homeschooler. Please mail your Box Tops to Carolina Homeschooler, PO Box 1421, Lancaster SC 29721.

Tyson Project A+ is similar to Box Tops, but they're worth .24 each and are found only on Tyson products. Just clip the labels and mail them to me when you get a stack. Once I collect 100 of them, I can submit them for fundraising money. For more information about this program, visit their website.

Our Amazon.com link is available on most of my website pages (look for the brown box). When you click on the box, it will take you to Amazon's website (you'll see our code "carolinhomesc" in the URL). For us to get credit, you need to access our link to get to the Amazon site. Products that are already in your shopping cart before you access our link won't count. (You have to delete them and add them back again after using our link.)

Please email me if you have any questions or suggestions for fundraising projects. We welcome all the help we can get!
