Contests

We hope you enjoy our contests and great prizes. If you have a suggestion for a new contest, please feel free to email us.

Box Tops Contest

We're renewing our efforts to raise funds for our trips (our current balance is $1,315) by starting a new contest. A friend recently donated many homeschooling books, videos, and software to me as contest prizes, so I'm giving them away in our new Box Tops contest.

In order to enter this contest, you need to send at least one of these collection sheets with Box Tops taped or glued into each of the 25 squares. In the box where it asks for your name, please print your name and email address clearly. If I don't have your email address, I won't be able to notify you when you win! (You don't need to fill out the grade/teacher's name lines.)

Each completed collection sheet will be counted as one entry in our contest. The more you collect and mail in, the more chances you'll have to win! I'll keep drawing names periodically to award prizes until they're all given away. People who have previously sent Box Tops to me will automatically be entered in the contest with five entries.

All I ask in return is for winners to pay shipping charges. I'll calculate Media Mail postage for each item (usually around $3 or so), and the cost of a box if I don't have any used boxes left, and will tell you the cost of postage when I'm ready to ship.

We've raised close to $80 since we started fundraising with Box Tops, and hope to at least double that during this contest. (Our best fundraiser remains our website's Google ads, but every fundraising project helps!)

So start mailing in those completed collection sheets to Carolina Homeschooler, PO Box 1421, Lancaster, SC 29721, and I'll start giving away these prizes while we build our trip fund!

Contest Deadline: Ongoing until all prizes are given away.

What Worked, What Didn't (Contest)

Are you still using the same homeschool resources you started with at the beginning of the school year? If not, don't feel alone. Homeschooling is a learning process, and not everything will work as planned. For the benefit of new homeschoolers and veterans who are planning for next year, please share what worked for you and what didn't, and why.

Each person who posts their advice in the What Worked, What Didn't thread in our Homeschooling Day-by-Day forum will have a chance to win their choice of the prizes listed below. I'll keep drawing names until all prizes are given away.

All I ask in return is for winners to pay shipping charges. I'll calculate Media Mail postage for each item (usually around $3 or so), and the cost of a box if I don't have any used boxes left, and will tell you the cost of postage when I'm ready to ship.

Contest Deadline: Anyone who posted by 4.24.08 will receive a prize.
