As part of our commitment
to provide support and communication to South Carolina's
homeschoolers, we provide discussion forums and a chat
room as a service to you and your children. Feel free to ask questions about homeschooling, share your opinions
and experiences, and get to know other homeschoolers across the state.

Forums
Our discussion forums are
available to anyone interested in homeschooling. You can read
messages as a guest, but you'll
need to register for an account before you can post messages. After
you register and confirm your account, you can post messages at any
time, day or night. Since the forum is moderated to weed out spam
and pornographic posts, your message may not appear immediately.
Keep in mind that you
need to register with a valid email address so you can receive the
confirmation email and activate your account. If you don't receive
the confirmation email, please check your spam folder or bulk mail
folder in case it was routed there. Email me at
editor@carolinahomeschooler.com if you have trouble registering.
Note to AOL users:
If you have problems posting messages after logging in, log back out
and close your AOL browser. Open Internet Explorer or another
browser (not AOL) and log in again. You shouldn't have a
problem after using a different browser.

Children &
Youth Forums
Your children are also
invited to participate in a fun and moderated area created just for
them. They must register for an account separate from their parents
in order to have their own username and to be able to access the
children and youth areas. Students taking our courses (and their parents)
also have
access to special course forums when they enroll in any of our courses.
Note: When your child registers for a forum account,
please ask him not to use his last name as part of his username due
to privacy concerns. His first name is fine.

Chat Room
Our chat room, Homefront Hall,
is available to anyone with a registered discussion forum account.
It is moderated to protect the safety of our children and youth. It
currently holds ten users at one
time. If we (and our children) enjoy the room, I'll upgrade it to
hold more users.
To participate in any of
our chats, you must first be a registered member of our
discussion
forums and use the same username in the chat room. If you are
under 13 years old, I must have a COPPA permission form signed by
one of your parents in my file. (Your parent had to sign this form
and mail it to me before you could post in our forums.)
To attend a scheduled
chat, please send me a private message the morning of the chat to
let me know you plan to attend. I will respond with a password for
you to use to enter the room. If more than ten people plan to
attend the chat, each person can enter the room at the designated
time on a first-come, first-served basis. If the room is full, try
again in a few minutes.
