June Events
Want to add an event? Send us an
email
with the details. I'll be more likely to list your event quickly if
it's written in the format you see below (one paragraph, to the
point, with contact info, preferably a website). If it's a long
description and I have to spend a lot of time editing for length,
I'll put it off, or not post it at all due to time limitations.

Digging for History at Biltmore
Estate
Join Biltmore Estate on June 5th and 6th for a unique opportunity to
explore their rich history and to have a hands-on introduction to
the field of archaeology. Visit a prehistoric Native American mound
and village site and see archeologists at work. Discover what clues
remain from an African American community dating to the 19th
century. See how such sites are excavated, how archaeologists record
their findings, and how these records help us understand more about
a culture. Take part in demonstrations of historic activities, and
to try your hand at reading the lay of the land. Activities will
take place from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets are $20.00 per person,
children 4 and under are free. For more information or to make
reservations, call 866.851.4661 or visit their
website.
