Hi everyone,

I just wanted to tell you how inspired I am reading about the accomplishments of the students graduating from associations who are members of Carolina Homeschooler. I'm working on our latest newsletter and I have the privilege of showcasing the achievements of the students. The associations have graduated hundreds of seniors this year, complete with ceremonies that filled auditoriums. They had many Palmetto Fellow Scholars (the highest scholarship awarded by the state), as well as LIFE scholars, and other students who have won awards for volunteer service, robotics competitions, and more. There are many associations to choose from in SC, and there are so many positive things happening with those that are members of Carolina Homeschooler that it really strengthens the homeschooling climate in SC. It's so encouraging!

If you're in the process of choosing which association to join for the 2006-2007 school year, I heartily recommend the wonderful associations listed on Carolina Homeschooler's About Us page at http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/aboutus.htm

Have a great weekend! :smile2:

Warmly,
Dianna

Dianna,

I am currently a member of Homeward, but I never receive a Carolina Homeschooler newsletter. I received one when I first joined Homeward 2 yrs ago, but nothing since then. Am I supposed to? How often does it come out?

Christine, the associations mail them out with their renewing membership packets each year. This year the newsletter is going to be more of a "guide" to homeschooling (answering many of the questions that newcomers often have), so associations may not include them in their packets. In that case, members can get a copy at their association offices, at their local library, or by sending me a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Let me know if you want past issues and I can send them to you, too (as long as I still have copies).
