Does anyone know of a boy scout-type group that is for younger children, like 4-5 years old? I'd love to put my son in something like scouts, but I think the youngest they go is 7-yr-old/first grade.

Pecan:

My son is a scout and I help his pack (we currently live in Florida). The youngest cub scout age is Tiger Cub @ first grade or age seven (if memory serves me correctly about age!).

You can always ask the Cub Master to let you and your son attend as observers...I'm sure they would be happy to allow you. It is mandatory for one parent to remain with the child their first year as a Tiger Cub anyway, so you both can get used to it.

You can even get him a t-shirt that says "scout buddy" on it, to make him feel official.

I don't know of any other "scout like" organization for 4-5 year olds.

Good luck,

Keith

Thanks for help! I've found that the only "club" that might allow his age group is like the Royal Rangers groups at churches, and I'm not sure if any around here take 4-yr-olds. I guess there's plenty of time for him to be involved in things like that, though, so I'll just have to wait it out a bit. I just think he'll like it so much.
Thanks againg for the suggestions! I'll have to look into that for him.
