Hi everyone ~ Thanks for letting me join. :) We are a military family and have been in SC since Christmas last year. We have two children (a daughter and a son) and my daughter is going to be five come August 10, thus it's kindergarten time. I am going to homeschool her, though I admit to having a husband who wants more details about everything. Anyway, I'm finding a lot of resources on this site, I am so glad I found it!

I read a few other threads about picking an association - but I have a couple more questions. LOL

As I understand it, I can join any association I please? I thought I had to join a local one, but in another thread someone said you don't have to.

Is the end of July the cut off for joining the groups? Or can you join at any time?

That's where I am at now - picking an association and looking at curriculum. I am a very laid back parent and I know I will be a laid back homeschooler. I've even been debating un-schooling, but as I said I'm still looking into it.

Thanks again. :)

Welcome to our group! We're glad to have you with us. :smile2: Yes, you can join any association that welcomes open membership. Some associations limit their enrollment to certain counties, or to members of their local support group, but most are unlimited. Most associations allow you to join any time, but may charge more for registrations past a certain date.

Let us know if you have any questions about curriculum or unschooling. We'd be happy to help!

Warmly,
Dianna
