Welcome to our forums! :smile2:
There's a group listed on our support groups page. Go to http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/support.htm and click on the Lowcountry link.

Thanks for those links!
Maybe you will laugh at this - but should I join more then one support group? That is DH's biggest issue with homeschooling ~ our daughter meeting other kids.

I live in Summerville as well and have just started for the first time. We started school yesterday:confused2
I found the LCHEA group has a summerville group, I have not actually joined yet.
What grade is your daughter, mine is 2nd.
Good luck!

We started on Monday. :biggrin2: I'm having so much fun and my daughter is loving it. She is just in kindergarten so we aren't doing too much differently then we normally do. My husband is worried about structure so I throw in some worksheets to please him.

I can think of two groups off the top of my head for that area. TEACH and LCHEA.net. Im not familiar with Teach but I have met some wonderful families with them. Sometimes we do field trips together when they are invited through loop groups (berkeleyhstimes, charlestonhstimes, or dorchestorhstimes)
I am with LChea. We have satellites all over and field trips are done within satellites and some are for all lchea members. According to their website we have 350 family members. It is christian based and we are made up of many denominations. We also have co-op classes, classes through SHEEP, and classes offered through HELP. Which is very helpful for the difficult subjects. But you can also sign young children up for a class once a week to mingle. I haven't seen a roster of upcoming classes yet but I was told there would be classes from Kindergarten to 12th including art. Many, many field trips. Field trips are optional so you can choose the ones you want to do. I usually do 2-3 a week and some are just play days. Check out their website - we also participate in spelling bees, geography bees, etc...
