I have purchased a couple of different books for homeschooling and in these books some start with the letter A and others don't go alphabetically. I remember my 4 other sons not learning them alphabetically. Can anyone shed some light. I am confused which way to go. Thanks

Well, Will is almost 4 (Oct), and he's known his alphabet now for about 3-4 months. He learned by this Leapfrog DVD called the Letter Factory. It's about 30 minutes long, and it teaches the letter and the sounds they make. He absolutely loved it and learned his letters very quickly. To answer your question, though, Will learned the letters in a random order, even though the video taught them in order. I think they'll learn how they learn, regardless of the order you try to teach them, KWIM?

With another group that I am in, someone gave me the website www.starfall.com, which is free and has some great phonics printable books and activities online. You might want to check it out to just to supplment.
