Social studies - kindergarten

How did any of you teach social studies to your pre-k/kinder? I know that's one of the 5 subjects that has to be taught on, but I'm a little baffled by it... any suggestions, PLEEEAAAASE???? :biggrin2:

Social Studies in kindergarten is probably not what you're thinking. A good list of topics for the k level can be found in World Book's Typical Course of Study area: http://www.worldbook.com/wb/Students?curriculum (click on the kindergarten link).

Also, Science and Social Studies in the lower elementary grades are often alternated each semester. One semester is social studies, and the next is science, for example. You don't have to do it that way, but some do.
