Kershaw County has football thru the Rec Dept but I'm not sure about ages. There is also a league in Cola for kids up to 12. Ben Lippen or other private schools might let him play but that's just a rumor I've heard so can't confirm.

Angie, right now the closest competitive team for homeschoolers that I know of is located in Rock Hill. There are other teams in the Charlotte area. Rock Hill is the only SC team. It is in the Pioneer Football league, that they participate.
However, my husband and I hope to start a team of flag ball. It will not be competitive, but will allow the players to learn the game rules and get conditioning. We will get the guys together somewhere in the Pageland and Jefferson area. If there was a group of boys in your area that wanted to form a team, they could surely meet and play each other. We do plan to use the same guidelines and rules as the PFL uses. I will let you know how our planning is going. We do not anticpate starting until after our school year gets off and running smoothly. I anticipate Sat or Sun evening games, just a thought, though. Usually, after a couple of years of organized flag ball, reg foot ball (gear and all), will be our next thought.

Hope this helps,
Sharon

In Lancaster County, children can play sports, including football through the parks and recreation department.
However, aren't public schools required to let him play? In some states they are, but I don't know about our state. You could call the Dept. of Education in Columbia and ask.

In SC, public schools (cases vary) do not allow hslers to play sports. There was an attempt last yr or yr before to get legislation passed that would allow hslers to play sports in public school. There are alot of pros and cons regarding this issue.

No, public schools don't have to allow equal access to homeschoolers, and most don't.
