Hi everyone,
We haven't chatted here in a while, so I thought I'd see how things are going with everyone. How are you doing? Have you delved into school stuff yet, or are you waiting until September?

On another mailing list, I shared a website about Meth use that I thought folks would find interesting (yet disturbing). If you have high school homeschoolers and want to teach drug education as part of your PE curriculum, this would be a good site to visit. Remember, though, that it depicts the results of meth use very realistically through pictures. It's not pleasant to see.

Hey Dianna,
We started school officially a few weeks ago - mostly because the school district started then and that was back when my husband was being odd about me homeschooling. LOL Now, I realize I want to start in September. It felt really wierd starting school when the weather was just SO great and it never does feel like school until the fall kicks in. Okay so I grew up in South Dakota and it was still 90+ degrees in September, but nonetheless, Sept seems like a more "natural" start....though I also think about year round schooling too.
But it's been a few weeks and we are doing GREAT. (Notice the capital/shouting letters!!) My husband has done a complete change of heart - he now says he thinks our daughter will learn more/faster then if she were at school. I am very happy to have him definitely on my side.
My daughter is having a good time - I realize that when she was younger I actively taught her things, and then since we've lived in SC we just kind of hung out and...hung out! We didn't actively sit and teach her something. And now that I make it a point to teach her something - however briefly we work on it - she catches on fast. I felt bad (just for a few minutes LOL) thinking did we waste six months on not learning? Then I realize she did learn stuff - we just weren't attempting to teach her. If that makes sense. I think it's because with babies we really work on helping them learn.
But we are doing really good. I haven't joined a support group because I have heard that one I was interested in didn't have too many younger child activities - and I also have my 3 year old to think about. I am thinking about extras to get them involved in like gymnastics, a music class and such.

Tsoniki, I'm glad that things seem to be smoothing out for you and going so well. You sound like you're having a great time! :biggrin2:
Warmly,
Dianna
