Hi everyone! My name is Bobbi and I'm a SAHM to Madison 9, Malory 7, Dylan 5, and Skylar 2. I so desperately want to home school my precious family, but am lacking confidence and support. :doubt: My husband would definitely support me when it came down to it, but everytime I mention wanting to do this he kinda giggles and says in not so many words I couldn't handle it, or I'd go crazy. I *know I could. Yes, I tend to get overwhelmed, that's in my nature...but not with something I feel so passionate about. I truly feel it's in the best interest of my children. My babies mean the world to me and I want them homeschooled so badly. I'm also nervous about the teaching. What if I don't know some things? I am REALLY bad in Math...just terrible. Everything else I feel okay teaching...it's Math that scares me. The process of getting started does seem overwhelming to me. I'm so glad I found you guys. Everyone seems so kind. TIA for everything! :biggrin2:
Sincerely,
Bobbi

Math u see is really good and it will follow your kids all the way to trig and precalculus. They have a free demo on their website you can check out, and it tells you how to teach it.
You can do it!!!!! I get overwhelmed too ( you can probably tell if you read some of my posts here !!! LOL) but you get over it and plug along. It is hard work, but i am beginning to see the fruits of my labors!!

Math U See is great. Developmental Math is Great.
Please don't let math scare you. When I first started homeschooling thirteen years ago, our first day of school was in bed recoperating with a new baby.
I hate math and had to relearn third grade math a day before each lesson as I had forgotten mixed fractions and many other things and stuff was renamed... carring was now called re-nameing.
i was able to get my girls through pre algebra and DH was able to finish the last part of the book.
We then swithched to video math called Keyboard Enterprises. Math U See now goes into uper level math.
I did no uper level math with my girls personally and my oldest just finished Satistics in college with an "A"
You can homeschool even if you only know basic math.

Bobbi, welcome to our forum. Your avatar picture is so cute! Don't worry about not knowing a subject - you can always relearn along with your children, or high a tutor to help. And remember that we're here to help you along.
Warmly,
Dianna
