Warning... This is a vent post. I am posting a homeschooling concern.:confused2
I have homeschooled for 13 years and homeschooling isn't new to me. My concern is that in my area everything homeschooling involves bible study tacked on. I am a christian and go to church evey Sunday, My 13 year old daughter even has 12 years perfect attendance in Sundayschool. However, I do not exspect others to believe as I do to go to an event I am sponsering!
We wanted to join a homeschool cheerleading group but to do so, we were told that is is a christian cheer group and would need to sign a conduct contract, statement of faith and have devotion before each event. I have no problem signing the conduct contract but why is everything in my area have to have a bible study tacked on? It was NOT advertistised as christian cheer but only Homeschooling Cheer. Because I choose to not partisipate because I prefer my child to be churched at our church with our personal belief we again can't do a fun activity.
Frankly, I am getting weiry and wish homeschooling activities could be for everyone. Kindness, politeness and manners should be enough to partisipate in homeschool cheer. Limiting who can come due to a bible study issue hurts homeschooling.
Does anyone else have to tackle these problems? I am at my wits end! :mad2:
