I have homeschooled my high school student several years ago using the Traditional Abeka Homeschooling method. They keep all progress reports, report cards and transcripts. I am currently homeschooling my 1st and 2nd grader. I am using the same ABeka program again. However they do not require Social Studies, Science and Health/PE to be graded at this level. I have the books but am wondering how to keep progress reports, report cards for these other subjects. I have never used another method and am not used to doing my own progress reports. Can I keep my own progress report attached to theirs? Do I have to grade with letter grades or can I use the same grade as public schools (consistent, devolping, needs improvement)? If someone could give me advice, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

Since Health/PE aren't required subjects, you don't have to document them with grades or progress reports, if you don't want to. For science and social studies, your "bi-annual progress report" can either be a report card or a summary of topics mastered in each subject. You can use any grading system (A, B, C; or Statisfactory, Needs Improvement; or whatever system you'd like). Other than that, remember to keep samples of their work for their portfolios.
Let me know if you have other questions.
Warmly,
Dianna
