I have a question and I need to know what to do or rather how to go about it. I understand that SC Laws state that I must have a copy of my GED or High School diploma to home-school my child/children. I have moved so much since I had gotten my GED, that I don't have a copy of the transcription any more. Also when I got my GED, they didn't do graduations like they do nowadays. All I had was a transcript stating what my grades were, and that I passed the GED course. I completed the course at the high school in the town in which I was living at the time, but never attended the school there. How do I find out about getting a copy of the transcript or the "diploma"? I need it before I can legally teach my child/children at home, from what I understand. Please help. I've never home schooled any of my children before so I feel like I'm swimming in very deep waters here. :confused2

call and request a copy from the school district you got your GED from. they will have it in storage. here in charleston, records are kept in a huge warehouse for 75 years.

you should be able to call the school or the state and they will have a record of it.

If you have college diploma, just use that. It's then assumed that you have a high school diploma. :smile2:
