Hi everyone,
I have a new contest going on, and really need a lot of winners so I can finish clearing off my shelves. Read all about it on our Contests page at http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/contests.htm
Warmly,

For us, this past year was our first full year of homeschooling so it was full of learning experiences for us. i dont think we got all that we wanted to accomplish academically done but we learned alot along our digressions. Last year we were very relaxed this year we will be more structured, but for my oldest son who is starting the 8th grade this year we are going to try giving out the weekly assignments and letting him complete them on his own time frame so long as all is ready to turn in on friday. My youngest will continue focusing on math and reading as he is still behind there. I hope that he "gets it" this year and can play catch up some. I am debating on the year round school 15 days a month thing. that is something to look into, but am not sure how i will keep my kids motivated in the summer months.
the things that worked this year for us were mainly the things that kind of life learning experiences that came up. I think that they learned more there and with their questions than they did in all the books we had.

I think one of the best things my kids have ever used is Times Tales. It tells a story and your kids learn them to learn multiplication facts.
PS: I can't get the link to work on my computer to spend this to you instead of pasting it here but either way I wanted others to know of this program.
