yes because, The time is kind of what keeps us sane and if there was only 23 hours in a day it would throw everything off. But a fun fact, if your going to or comeing from japan and you leave at 7am you get there at 7am. lol Time zones are screwy.

Kylie, in DST (Daylight savings time) days become longer or shorter compared to the day. When DST occurs in spring, the day is 23 hours. In fall, 25

Ok that doesn't make much sense, but ok. I take the rule : don't argue unless you have evidence

um... Dallas, I'm not sure you know what your saying there bud. All daylight saving time does is set the clock forward an hour or whatever. There is still 24 hours, you are just set ahead an hour is all.

All daylight saving time does is give u more time earlier in the day, u still have the 24 hours, ur just getting up earlier, because the sun is going to set earlier.

This question is like asking if a dollar is really a dollar. Which, if you research it, is pretty interesting.

Heh, that actually is. I know of a certain trick where you can make a bunch of money without ever spending any of it because of that.

LOL no. THis is completely legal. I'm not sure how to do it myself. But I know it can be done. (and no I'm not going to post it on here)

I was just going over this old thread, its ridiculous. Just thought that i should put some info in from some textbooks and internet sources. Below is something i googled.

The main purpose of Daylight Saving Time (called "Summer Time" in many places in the world) is to make better use of daylight. We change our clocks during the summer months to move an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. Countries have different change dates.
According to some sources, DST saves energy. Studies done by the U.S. Department of Transportation in 1975 showed that Daylight Saving Time trims the entire country's electricity usage by a small but significant amount, about one percent each day, because less electricity is used for lighting and appliances.
http://www.webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/c.html

What I have posted below are my thoughts on the matter.

Many countries do not even have daylight savings time. Just because we set time backwards or forwards, we do not change the flow of time. There will always be 24 hours in a day. (for the people that doubt) Try to grasp that.

If the president announced that everyone in the united states was to set the clock back 3 hours on a paticular day, there would still be 24 hours in day, we would just start that day 3 hours earlier.

Yeah that is probably a good idea, we don’t want to break the economy just yet, or lower the value of dollar any more than it is already.

:rotfl2:,
I think it was false because of the fact that each year actually has 365.25 days instead of the more commonly believed 365 days. this would cause one day in each year to have a mere 6 hours. We clearly have a problem here. So, basically, 11:00 PM on December 31st, 2009 is not so. It is either December 32nd, 2009, which is a logical contradiction, or January 0th, 2010, which causes equal problems for logic. Therefore, we can conclude that those six hours do in fact exist, from 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM on the night of your choosing, once a year. Which is not good for the modern calendar! Just an
