Driver's Education: We will offer this class twice in the coming
school year. Once in October and once in March of 09. You must be
15 to take the class and have a driver's permit to complete the
driving portion to obtain your certificate. This class is taught by a
certified instructor and is paid outside the money toward the co-op.
Last year we got a terrific deal for 200.00 for co-op members. It
was almost 100.00 less than we could find it anywhere else!

We are also still considering a foreign language class. I'm just
trying to see where to fit it! I would need someone to step forward
and be willing to use the Rosetta Stone curriculum to teach Spanish
for a high school credit. It's very needed and if I can get someone
to do this, I would find a space to fit it. :)

We are having our parent/teacher meeting (originally I'd said May!) in April. I changed it because we had such an overwhelming response and I need the extra time to plan! :) If anyone is interested please post your questions and I'll be happy to answer them. We are meeting at Restoration Church in Spartanburg.

We will cover the policies, procedures and parental responsibilities of the co-op. We'll also have some of our teachers there to answer your questions in their classes.

This will also be our first opportunity for registration. We will have the registration forms there and all classes will be available then. We can discuss together what duties are best suited for each parent at that time. Any classes that fill up during this registration period will be closed for the July registration.

Thanks, Kristi!

Hi,
What is the address of the Restoration Church ?
Also,
what if a child is not on grade level work as one would be in public school ? Do you offer other optons for them ?

Hi Amy,

We allow the parents to place their child in whatever class they feel that their child is ready for. We try very hard to not compartmentalize children by grade. We do name the classes by grade just to give a general idea of where the class is headed but the parent is given the option to place their child wherever they'd like.

Restoration Church is located at the junction of I-26 and New Cut Rd. It is actually in the old Waccamaw Pottery. I hope to see you there.

Thanks, Kristi
