Writing Course - April

We're offering a new writing course this spring for beginners and reluctant writers in middle school through high school. It will start with basic skills and gradually shift to more complex forms of writing (paragraphs, stories, reports, essays, etc) as well as developing specific writing skills (complex sentence structures, flow, voice, etc).

How long will you spend on poetry? Erin has already done your poetry writing class once. Will you cover the same type things at the start of this class? We could use help with writing, but would like to move on quickly to reports etc.

Wanda, we'll spend a couple of weeks on poetry as a way to introduce basic writing skills, then probably move on. I'd have to see where the group is before I could say for certain, though, and right now we don't have enough students enrolled.

I'll give it another week or two to see if we have enough registrations. If not, we'll wait until fall to start a class.

I am new here; Has this writing course already started? I could not get any date info on the website. The course is exactly what my son needs. If it hasn't started, can you tell me when it will and I will register him for it. If it has started, will you be doing another one? When? Thank you much!

Dagmar, we didn't have enough registrations for the course to be offered, but I think there will probably be enough interest in the fall (according to the emails I've received). I'll announce future courses in my newsletter, so please subscribe at http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/lists.htm if you're interested in possibly taking the course in the fall.
