I love to read books. When ever we go to the library I usually get 4 books at a time. One of my favorite books to read at home is Calvin and Hobbes. One time Calvin was being ludicrous when he asked for a flame thrower. He’s always asking for absurd stuff. Another book that I like is Little Women. It’s a really good book for girls. What kind of books do you like to read? Talk about them.

Hi Jordan,
Hooray! :biggrin2: It's great to find somebody else who likes Calvin and Hobbes. We have all the books except The Revenge of the Baby-Sat. Do you have it? One of my favorite parts is when Calvin is consecrating his snowball. If anybody else hasn't read the books, they should. I also like The Hero and the Crown and The Blue Sword, both by Robin McKinley. Once I went to the library and got 10 books!

Wow Kerry,
You and I have a lot in common. The Revenge of the Baby Sat is the only one I’m missing too. I like in Scientific Progress Goes “Boink” where the bully Moe takes Calvin’s truck, and Calvin try’s not to let him know that bothers him, so he acts aloof. Have you ever read the one where he thinks by folding his blankets will make a parachute, and he jumps off the roof? Would you like to be pen pals? If so please send me a private message.

Hey,
Do any of you read in the car, and after a while get dizzy? I do that all the time, on the car ride on the way home from the library. Have any of ever read The Fairy's Mistake ? It's really good. Calvin and Hobbes will probably always be my favorite book. He's always doing bad and mischievous things. Like the time he though a slush ball at Susie Derkins.

Yeah, I do that all the time. Sometimes our car trips can get a little chaotic, with my sisters yelling in the backseat, and then it's hard to concentrate on anything. :doubt: the world aint fair. That last sentence was typed by my sister. She's standing here watching me type. Grrrr! Kerry is STRANGER than ME( can you beleave that!) The stuff in blue is what she typed. She still won't go away! :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

Dear Riley,
I like to read books about dinosaurs too. They're really fascinating. Sometimes I like to imagine that I find a T-rex tooth. I bet when ever t-rex came along there was a bunch of running and chaos going on. Glad he doesn’t live on my block. Maybe some day I’ll become an archeologist.

If Calvin got grenades and a bazooka, he wouldn't just settle for chaos. He'd cause total destruction!

Jordan,
I think Velociraptor is cool. Have you read the Calvin and Hobbes comic that has the poem about the tyrannosaur attacking the city? It's inconcievable that that would actually happen, but Watterson makes it seem pretty realistic. That comic is one of my favorites.

My parents don't really care about how many books I get, as long as I return them all. :biggrin2: When I went to public school for 5th and 6th grades, we'd have Library class every Thursday. Our class would go to the public library (it was just across the street.) I'd check out my usual 7 or 8 books, and everybody would just stare at me. :confused2 It was irritating.

Everyone always laughs at me when that happens. Someone will be talking to me, and they'll say, "...so, what do you think, Kerry?" I say, "What?" Everyone laughs and says, "Gosh, Kerry, weren't you listening at all?" I say, "Nope, not at all." Then I go back to my book.
