It’s time again for the Fall semester home school art classes. If your student has never participated in the home school art class they are missing a great educational experience. If they have taken the class in the past, they are in for a surprise because we have many new projects to work on this semester.
In a teacher-guided open studio format, children are introduced to a wide range of art materials. They are encouraged to discover various media including painting, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking. They will also develop their visual thinking while experimenting with charcoal, pastels, pen and ink, as well as acrylic and water-color paints. Also, in the studio children will develop their observational and technical skills.
Besides learning technical and artistic skills, art teaches students to gain patience, focus, pride and confidence in their ability. Our Home School Art experience exists to engage and inspire children in the process of making art. Our goal is to set an atmosphere where every student can feel successful with their efforts while having fun and appreciating both the product and the process of making art.
Parents, please don’t neglect the study of art in your home school this coming year. It’s a fact that when children participate in art projects, they improve their abilities to plan, make decisions and think resourcefully through guided instruction that also teaches patience and follow through. Students gain experience that will assist their regular academic endeavors and help tremendously with those challenging special homework projects.
Creativity improves problem solving abilities, spatial thinking and math, so sign your student up today!
