I have never been to SC and have been given the overwhelming task by my beloved husband to research the area??? What we are hoping to find is a quiet family oriented suburb that is 30-45 mins away from the coast or body of water.
One that has the basic needs met such as a library, target, grocery store and some form of gym/ymca with children programs. I'm not a big shopper, for example we have a mall that's about 20 mins from home and I go maybe twice a year. So a mall about 30 mins away is just fine by us....
Honestly we are tried of 4 lane bumper to bumper traffic 24/7 that takes you over 45 mins to travel 8 miles.
Anyone have any suggestions of such areas ?? ( when searching the web, it seems to only pull up the big cities )
Any help/info :smile2: would be much appreciated

try rockhill sc. nice small town , but it is growing into a little Charlotte NC,,,it does have a target and a really good library.

Summerville is a nice area. It's about 30 minutes from downtown Charleston and about 45 minutes from the beaches. New shopping center. Traffic is getting busy, but it's not too bad. Lots of nice family oriented neighborhoods plus the other things you are looking for.

Pickens County is smaller and nice. Pickens the city is in the country with 2 grocery stores YMCA and shopping areas. Pickens is very close to several lakes within 15 minutes. No walmart. It is in EAsley about 10 - 20 mins away or less depending where you live. Easley is bigger with Walmart, Kmart, many other stores. Anywhere here is about 3 to 4 hours from beach area. Liberty is a small city too. Greenville is much larger. What is your husband job area?
