Now I want to know what you've been watching! :biggrin2: Seriously, we're not big TV watchers, but we've recently discovered Netflix and we've been enjoying watching old TV series without commercials, plus all kinds of educational movies, children's movies, etc. We're currently watching Season 2 of Voyager, and we just finished watching The Matrix last week (The first time I've seen it.)
So... what have you been watching? Do you have any recommendations? (Whether it's educational or just plain fun!) :smile2:

William, we used to watch that sometimes, and the kids still do once in a while. Back in the days when I worked for Barnes and Noble's online site I did a lot of online author interviews. Stephen Collins (the actor who plays the father on 7th Heaven) wrote a book and I interviewed him. He was so delightful and down to earth. We talked for at least 30 minutes after the interview was over.
He wanted to know where I was from (he noticed my southern accent since the interviews are conducted via phone and then typed online for members to read as it's happening), and I responded that he wouldn't know the town. He said that he recognized my accent, so I told him that I lived in Lancaster, and believe it or not, he knew all about Lancaster! He was in the film "Chiefs", filmed in Chester, and said that they were all impressed with the hospitality they received while they were there. He said they still talked about how the town rolled out the red carpet for them and made them feel welcome.
He would actually prefer to write instead of act, but he said that he can't support his family with his writing, so he acts on the side. :smile2:
Okay, I'm rambling... just thought I'd share that with you!

I love Netflix and 7th Heaven -- you can get earlier seasons of 7th Heaven on Netflix's as well.
I like to watch A and E they have some great medical shows and I love Court TV as I watch forensic shows too.
The History and Travel Channels are neat too oh and I watch HGTV and Food...
I just kind of browse to see what is coming on -- all those sites have webpages so you can kind of see when something is on

We love 7th Heaven. I enjoyed hearing about the interview too. Thanks for sharing that.
We used to watch Full House and still do some but husband saw an interview with the dad on that show and he told that he told very awful jokes that no other person would tell. Scott said he was awful to hear.

Try Steven Spielberg's recent mini series Into the West. I just watched it and it was wonderful. It tracks the life of Jacob Wheeler starting pre Civil War upto about 1890.

Yes, that was good. I wish it was a series.
I like Sue FBEYE about a deaf FBI agent.

I just wanted to recommend two movies that are good for children. One is Because of Winn-Dixie. It's based on the book of the same name and follows the book pretty closely (more than most movies). It's a very sweet story.
Another is Secondhand Lions. It reminded me of The Princess Bride with its mix of humor, swashbuckling adventure, and story-telling format. We loved it to the end (and make sure you watch it to the end because it doesn't end where you may think).
I'm editing this to add one more, although you've probably seen this on TV - The Sandlot. I've never watched it through from beginning to end until we NetFlix-ed it, so I really enjoyed it. It brought back memories of the simpler days. (The reviews for Sandlot 2 aren't good, so I wouldn't recommend the sequel. The first one is great, though.)
