I was just hoping that I could get each family to pray for my son Prestin. He is 6 and he has to have 3 surgeries in the next 5 weeks.
When he was 15 months he amputated his right middle finger in a sofa bed and had it reattached. Since then he has had part of the finger tip die as well as several cysts in his nail bed removed and repaired.
Today he had the nail removed and a skin graft. His middle finger has been sewn inside the palm of his hand for better blood supply and his hand is balled up inside a cast that only exposes his thumb all the way up to his armpit. He has to keep this on for 10 days then they will go back in and release the graft and pray that it takes and does not die back again. The the following surgery will be to graft in a new nail into his finger. They will take one of his toenails and split it and implant it which means yet another cast.
The thing is it is his right hand and a finger that is used for writing and drawing. He loves to draw and write and this next 8 weeks will be difficult. He is also avid in gymnastics and baseball both of which he cannot do at this time. We have held off as long as we could but he was complaining of pain when writing and even with just normal everyday activities. Just simple things now he will not be able to do for hisself that will make him frustrated -- like eating, brushing his teeth, getting dressed, etc.
I know I have not been a member long but would appreciate the extra prayers for our family.
