Hello Everyone, I hope that everyone's school year is going great. I feel really good about how well Monica is doing. While in pubic school she got really behind in math so right now I am spending a little extra time getting her back up to grade level in that subject. I am pleased with the progress she is making and with a lot of hard work on her part she may even be up to grade level by the beginning of the next school year.

Anyway, sorry kinda got off subject there. I really need someone to teach Monica guitar. That is the only thing I miss about public school. Monica was in the band since 6th grade. She plays the trumpet and is really good at it. She is now asking to learn to play the guitar and I would love for her to continue in music in some form or another. She has a guitar and has been trying to learn the cords herself. With the 4 years of trumpet that should help some, but she knows very little about the guitar. I feel she could be good at it if she had someone to teach her.

If any one of you know of anyone that lives in the Gaffney area that would be willing to teach a 15 year old guitar, I would like to get in touch with them and see what we can work out.

Also I need someone to teach her art. Maybe something like drawing and painting. Art is something that Monica really enjoys so I thought if I can find someone to give her a few lessons she could have some fun and get a credit also. If anyone can help me with one or both of these request I would be very grateful. You can write me on the board or off at HomeSchoolMom28@aol.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Teresa (Mom to Monica a 10th grade homeschooler)

Teresa, I hope you've found someone to teach these two subjects. If you're interested in a resource for teaching drawing at home, let me know. There's a book that I started using last spring (just now returning to it) that's highly regarded by people who have used it. Let me know if you want to know more. :smile2:
