Hi everyone,
If anyone is interested in separate trips to Washington and NYC, please let me know. The cost of transportation and hotels will probably decrease by about $400 to $500 or so for a family of 4 or 5 who wants to go only to New York City, and probably around $600 or so for families who want to go only to Washington DC.
The only problem for New York City travelers is the train that leaves in the morning to NYC would arrive late evening and I'd prefer not to have to navigate public transportation with suitcases late at night. The only alternative would be to leave in the wee hours of the morning and arrive around 2:00 pm. With the NYC and WAS trips combined, that wouldn't be a problem because we'd travel first to Washington and arrive at a decent hour. There are a lot more trains connecting Washington to NYC, and we'd have our choice of good times later in the week.
I'm receptive to splitting up the trips if that would help families be able to afford them more easily, just let me know what you'd prefer. :smile2:

Updated to add: Almost everyone who responded wanted separate trips, so we've decided to start with Washington DC first. Please read the Washington DC: May 25-28 thread for more information.
Warmly,
Dianna
