Taught by Jennie Wakefield, smart IDEA Teaching Artist - March 12th 4-7pm in the NEW Ramsaur Studio at the Huguenot Mill Lofts.
Folk dance is an artistic experience with a strong emphasis on participation. Therefore, it can easily be used to create a solid community within your classroom and schools. It also has the ability to reach all areas of curriculum such as math concepts, directional relationships, and historical culture. In this workshop you will learn three participatory dances done to infectious music, and you will learn how to integrate it all into your daily curriculum.
If you haven’t signed up already, we hope you will be able to join us! All of our workshops offer 3 certification renewal credits for teachers. If you are interested, please let me know SOON and we will put you on the list. It’s only $25! To register online go to: http://www.peacecenter.org/pop/2013/folk_dance
