    Fifty soldiers arrived on a remote hilltop in the summer of 1755 with order to build a fort that would guard the western frontier of the English colony of North Carolina. Learn about the lives of those men and their Catawba Indian allies through on-going demonstrations of camp life as well as featured musket and cannon firings.
    Program runs 10am-4pm Saturday and 10am-3pm Sunday. Musket firing at 11am and 2pm. Cannon firings at 12pm and 3pm.

    Ribbit! Listen to the chorus of frogs and toads as the sun sets at Crowder. Sort through facts about toads and frogs, jump in a frog hop relay and participate in our croaking contest to win a prize!
    For all ages; $5/family. Pre registration is required. Great for students and families who want to learn side by side about NC wildlife and science in a hands on setting.     Join us on June 8 for a book signing with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, and their children. The Duggar's have 2 books including New York Times Best Seller, A Love that Multiplies. They have a weekly reality show on TLC called 19 Kids and Counting that airs in many countries throughout the world. The Duggar’s desire is for others to see that the Bible is the owner’s manual for life.
    Books can be purchased in Ruth's Attic Book Store, or you may bring your own. Limit 2 items signed per person.
