Go Wild for Math
January 13 or 14, 2013
The Greenville Zoo’s education department offers lively, hands-on programs sure to engage students as they learn. How much food does a 9,000 pound elephant eat per day? Math Day has been designed to inspire students to learn more about how math is applied in the zoo workplace. Through student activities, students will answer grade appropriate math problems related to a wide variety of animal issues, exhibit upkeep and everyday life at the Greenville Zoo. Ages 5-7(9:00am-10:30am), 8-10 (10:45am-12:15pm) and 11-14(2:00pm-3:30pm) is a preregistered class. Although topics may be the same for each age group, the material will be age appropriate. Vocabulary words and post activities are included. Registration is open until January 9th and costs $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Package price breaks available.
