Ovis Hill Farm is a sheep farm located in Timmonsville, SC. The farm is home to hundreds of sheep, cows, and chickens. We educate our community on the importance of farms in society and attract many school groups throughout the year. We are especially excited to offer a special day just for homeschooling families on May 17, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. While at the farm, students will have the opportunity to feed baby animals, make butter and take a wagon ride. The wagon visits all the animals on the farm and stops for a sheep-herding demonstration with the family's border collie, Joli. The last stop will be our "pizza garden" which is a teaching garden.
Cost is $6.00 per person up to $24 per family to be paid at the farm the day of your trip. We accept cash, debit or credit cards.
Optional activities: - Gourd Painting: Students will get their creativity flowing while painting their own birdhouse gourd that was grown on our farm. These gourds are perfect for hanging in the backyard and observing the wildlife that may choose the gourd as their home. ($5 per person). - Wool Bracelet Making: This is the perfect opportunity for students to make and take home a souvenir from their day on the farm. The bracelets are made with yarn spun from the wool of our sheep ($1 per person)
Please pre-register to participate in the tour and for the optional activities which will be conducted at the end of the tour. Pre-register by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
