My son is three. I was told I can register him for homeschool next year because he will turn 5 in November. Is this true? I live in SC

Margaret, I just wanted to double-check to make sure I understand. Your son is 3 now, and will be 4 in November 2016, and 5 in November 2017? If so, you'll need to register as a homeschooler in SC beginning with the 2018-2019 school year. He can learn with you now (although I recommend hands-on activities and field trips right now instead of workbooks and worksheets), but you won't have to worry about registering and doing paperwork until 2018.

Warmly,

Dianna

Once he is registered, would he be considered in Kindergarten or first grade since he is learning now?

I'd recommend listing the grade your student would be if in public school. Grade levels are really irrelevant in homeschooling - you teach a student where they're at and go from there. There doesn't have to be artificial "grade levels" for each subject. Students learn much better this way.
