It's time to enroll in several reading reward programs.
The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading program is for students in grades 1-6. Students read 8 books this summer and record them in a journal. When they're finished, they bring their completed journal to their local Barnes & Noble store and they'll get to choose a free book from a list. Click on the link for more information and a pdf of the journal.
The Pizza Hut Book It! program is for children in grades K-6. Students who meet their reading goals (read-alouds and audiobooks count, too) from October to March will win monthly recognition, personal pan pizzas, and stickers. Homeschoolers are eligible to participate and must enroll by September 1st for the 2013-14 school year.
Book Adventure is a year-round reading motivation website for kids in grades K-8. Readers take multiple-choice quizzes on books they've read and earn points for prizes.
If you know of any others, let me know and I'll add them to the list.
