Moving to Mount Pleasant

Recommended Posts

Jakesmom

Hi. I'm moving to Mount Pleasant on June first. I homeschool my 13 year old son. Here in FL he is registered with the school district. I chose that way in case he needed services for his special needs and because every year we just get an evaluation by a certified teacher.

From what I understand when we move he would have to take standardized testing if I register him with the district. I really don't want him to have to take tests every year.

What paper work would I have to show to register him with Carolina homeschooler  or the school district? His last evaluation was in October. I wasn't sure if I should get another evaluation before I move or do you just start off fresh in a new state?

Hi, and welcome to our community! :) I apologize for the delay in replying, but I was away on our group trip to France and just returned.

Option 1 and 2, and some Option 3 associations required standardized testing, so I'd recommend choosing an Option 3 association that doesn't.

To find out what my thoughts are about testing, please see: http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/homeschool-faqs/record-keeping-testing/

To find out what is required for membership, please read through my membership page (including the FAQs) here: http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/membership/

Warmly,
Dianna
