Hi!  I keep finding Your Story Hour under curriculum sections of stores but don't know if listening to an audio book counts towards Social Studies requirements?  Thanks in advance

Hi Holly,

Any learning experience counts - listening to audiobooks and audiomagazines, reading print magazines that focus on history and science, watching documentaries and educational television, doing experiment kits, visiting museums, and zoos, historical parks and state parks, etc. I (and my children) learn so much from resources such as these.

Edited to add: curriculum is any resource that we use to learn from - it doesn't have to be a print resource. It can be any of the above, and more.

Warmly,

Dianna

We don't use them as the only thing we do for History/Social Studies, but they make a great learning addition for our family.  The best part is that they are something we can pop in the CD while driving to activities, ballgames, or vacations.  We use lots of audiobooks for that very purpose.
