Spartanburg Homeschool Groups

6 posts in this topic

I'm new to homeschooling - pulled my son out of 7th grade after Christmas break.  Have two other kids who will be in 5th grade and kindergarten in the fall that will be homeschooled too.  Anyone know of a homeschooling group in Spartanburg?  Most I've found on the internet are in Greenville (which is great, but I avoid I-85 like the plague ever since my hubby was rear-ended by a tractor trailer a couple years ago).  Thanks!  :)

There are some active homeschool groups in Spartanburg.  I live in Greenville, though on the Spartanburg side of Greenville..if that makes sense, lol, so I am in both Greenville and Spartanburg based groups  (though for me, the Greenville groups seem to be more active, so I don't venture to Spartanburg too often).    Most have groups either on Facebook, or in Yahoo groups.

Here are a few that I know of:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/spartanburghomeschoolers/

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Spartanburg_hs/info

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/LINKSupportGroup/info

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/UCHU/info

Joining those will perhaps help you make connections for other Spartanburg groups/co-ops, etc.  I know there are at least three different co-ops in the area as well, if you think that you'd be interested in co-ops.    You may want to look for Gaffney groups too..depending on which side of Spartanburg you live on, Gaffney is not too far.

Thanks, SamIam!  I've been having lots of trouble contacting the Spartanburg groups, but hopefully some will get back to me...

My boys are very active in scouts and have just started fencing lessons with the Knights of Siena in Boiling Springs, but it'd be nice if we could meet some homeschoolers in the area too...

Hi.  We are in Boiling Springs and have just started our first year of homeschool (Kindergarten).  Hopefully we can find some more people in the Spartanburg area to connect with.  :)
