Any help for homeschooling a special needs child?

My son was diagnosed with adhd early this year. He was in 2nd grade in public school. The school tested him for learning disabilities, but didn't find him to have any, but did give him an IEP. I didn't like the fact that he was going to have to leave his classroom 3 times a day for the extra help. He also wasn't happy at school, so my husband and I decided to homeschool him.

He's a lot happier now, but he still struggles with reading and writing. I looked at the list of signs that a child might have dyslexia, and he seems to have several of them. Do any of you know of a place where I can take him to be tested again in the Charleston/Summerville area?

Also, I'd like any help you may have to offer about homeschooling a child like mine. :-)

Thanks

If you are a member of Homeschool Legal Defense (hslda.org), they have special needs counselors that can help you or direct you to resources.

I don't have a child with dyslexia, but your pediatrician should know who you should contact for an evaluation.
