2005 Scholarships, Awards, and Achievements

Homeward Education Association announces that Susanna Nethery
will be valedictorian this year. Susanna has been awarded SC's
Palmetto Fellows Scholarship and received a Letter of Commendation
from the National Merit Scholarship Board. Salutatorian will be
Richard Sullivan, who has been nominated for the Palmetto
Fellows Scholarship. Another HEA student, Bethany Bush, has
also been awarded the SC Palmetto Fellows Scholarship.
Emily Carter, recent graduate of Palmetto State Association
of Homeschools, is currently enrolled as a freshmen in the Honors
program at Limestone College on a full scholarship. Her scholarships
include the Limestone Dean's Scholarship, the Limestone Honors
Scholarship, and the Albert Cline Endowment.
John Mark Campbell, Phyllis Williamson, Aaron
Huntley, and Troy Hudson, all members of Grace Homeschool
Association, won Palmetto Fellows Scholarships this year. Jessica
Brinson and Jessica Nichols were nominated for the second
round. John Mark Campbell will serve as GHA’s valedictorian, and
Jessica Brinson will be salutatorian.
Palmetto State Association of Homeschools announces that 9th-grade
student Ellen Moore, a member of the Southern Jewels Emerald
Clogging Team, recently competed during Spring Fling in Gatlinburg,
TN. Her team won second place in their age division, and third
runner up overall out of 64 teams from eight states.
Lauren Culp, member of Palmetto Homeschool Association, has
been awarded the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship. She has also been
accepted to the Honors program at North Greenville College.
These Grace Homeschool Association students earned honors this year:
Laura Matthews received a missions scholarship to Costa Rica,
Aaron Huntley won a Physics scholarship, Brian Simmons
and Brittany Carter were Physics scholarship nominees,
Laura Hubbard was a Coca Cola Scholarship finalist, and John
Mark Campbell won an appointment to the Air Force Academy.
Robert Broughton, member of Palmetto Homeschool Association,
was awarded a SC LIFE Scholarship, the Winthrop University's
Rutledge Scholarship, and the University of South Carolina's James L
Morrison Memorial Scholarship.
Will Heacox, Senior Patrol Leader of Boy Scout Troop 5,has
initiated a service project collecting shoeboxes for Samaritan's
Purse to aid those children in southeast Asia affected by the
tsunami. William is a member of Palmetto State Association of
Homeschools.
Grace Homeschool Association announces that Daniel and Michael
Herb earned the Civil Air Patrol's Billy Mitchell award, and
Julie Campbell, 5th grade, won the school award for the 2005
Lieutenant Governor's Writing Awards Program.
Susanna Nethery and Wade Golden, both members of
Homeward Education Association, were awarded the South Carolina
Physics Scholar achievement and attended the South Carolina Physics
Scholars Institute held at Francis Marion University in February,
2005.
