Educational Travel

We enjoy coordinating economical trips for homeschooling families. With group discounts for travel, hotel, and admission tickets, we're working to make US and international trips more affordable. For more information, please follow the links below.

Note: As of April 2008, discounts on trip registration fees for members of participating associations will be limited to trips intended for South Carolina homeschoolers. All families who participate in trips that are open to out-of-state homeschoolers will pay the same registration fee. Since out-of-state homeschoolers can't join our associations, and after considering different options, we feel this is fairest way to handle registration fees.

Disney World: August 30-September 6, 2008

Interested in going to Disney World? Join us as we explore theme parks, splash in water parks, play virtual reality games at Disney Quest, participate in special educational and behind-the-scenes programs, and more - all at wonderful discounts! To make the deal even sweeter, Disney is offering free dining during our trip. Visit our Walt Disney World area for more information. The registration deadline for this trip is July 5.

Washington DC: Fall 2008

Plans for our second trip to Washington DC are in the works. We'll spend at least three days touring our amazing capital again! We'll post more information about this trip soon. In the meantime, read our 2006 DC trip report.

Fundraising for Trips

We began fundraising projects last year to raise money for our trips. These projects include Google website ads, Box Tops for Education, and an affiliation with Amazon. As of the end of April, we've raised $1,475. (Our website's Google ads have been the biggest fundraiser so far.) All of the money generated from these programs will go toward paying the way for our children to travel.

To qualify for funds to offset the cost of our trips, travelers must either send in Box Tops (at least one of these collection sheets must be completely filled out and mailed in to qualify) or purchase items through our Amazon link (use the link in the left sidebar on this page).

If you send in Box Tops, make sure you put your name and email address on the sheet so I can keep track of who is donating. Please send them to: Carolina Homeschooler, PO Box 1421, Lancaster SC 29721. If you purchase through our Amazon link, please email me with the name of your items/books so I can keep track of who has contributed.

Although I can't track who clicks on our Google ads, it's by far the best fundraising tool we have. 97% of our fundraising money has come from these ads. Families who participate in any of our fundraising projects will be eligible to use these funds.
