Join us for our Heroes of the Holocaust book group and field trip to the Anne Frank house!
When (Book Group): Begins January 15
When (Field Trip): February 18
Where: SC State Museum
Registration Deadline: Registration is closed.
We’ll start with an online book group to prepare for this field trip, then we’ll visit the SC State Museum and take a virtual reality tour of the Anne Frank House.
The Anne Frank House virtual reality tour offers a unique and emotional insight into the years Anne Frank, her family, and four others lived in the “Secret Annex” of an old office building in Amsterdam. Together, they shared the burden of living in hiding in confined quarters with the constant threat of discovery. We’ll be immersed in Anne’s thoughts as we traverse each faithfully recreated room, and find out what happened to the Annex’ brave inhabitants.
Students who participate in the book group and field trip will receive letters of completion from Carolina Homeschooler to document participation, topics covered, and credits earned.
This event is limited to member students ages 13* and up, and their parents. Younger siblings, grandparents, other guests can’t attend. No drop-offs. Details will be provided to travelers prior to the field trip, but plan for noon and later.
*Children under 13 aren’t allowed to use the virtual reality headsets.
